Machine Tool Technology leads to an in-demand career path locally and across the country. That’s why SOWELA offers an associate degree program designed to prepare students for that workforce. SOWELA Machine Tool Technology. We spoke with Randall Kimbro this morning to get the details. In the machinist program, students will learn to set up and operate equipment to create metal parts, instruments, and tools. For the millwright portion of the curriculum, students learn to install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment in various settings like factories, power plants, and construction sites. More than 100 high school students from Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati have successfully completed nationally recognized training programs in construction, safety, and environmental certification—marking another milestone for the region’s growing investment in workforce development through the Enzweiler Building Institute (EBI) and the Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Training (PACT). The initiative—coordinated across multiple school districts and locations—is aimed at preparing students for high-demand careers in the construction industry through hands-on instruction and Industry Recognized Construction Certifications. West Virginia University (WVU) has received a $26.8 million in-kind donation from Rock Flow Dynamics, providing access to its advanced reservoir modeling and simulation software, tNavigator. The ASE Education Foundation and Goodguys Rod and Custom Association (Goodguys) are expanding their successful partnership by conducting educational awareness seminars at seven Goodguys events throughout the 2025 season. As an Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) competition administered by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), eCYBERMISSION invites teams of sixth- through ninth-grade students to tackle real-world problems in their communities through science or engineering. eCybermission STEM Competition Finalists. Kara Branch is an award-winning chemical engineer, engineering manager for Intel, and the founder of Black Girls Do Engineer, a nonprofit organization founded in 2019 to help young women develop in all areas of STEM.
