Careers In Hot Rodding

The ASE Education Foundation and Goodguys Rod and Custom Association (Goodguys) are expanding their successful partnership by conducting educational awareness seminars at seven Goodguys events throughout the 2025 season. Careers In Hot Rodding.

The ASE Education Foundation and Goodguys are working with local area high schools and technical programs in regions where Goodguys produce events to identify and recruit students interested in careers in hot rodding.

Fridays at select Goodguys events will be used as real-life classroom environments where students can experience the industry in person and meet with various automotive professionals from diverse industry backgrounds.

The next event takes place May 30 at the Dover (Delaware) Motor Speedway. 4 more events will be held later in the year coinciding with the 2025-26 school year.

Several Industry Partnerships

The Goodguys partnership is one of many industry relationships the ASE Education Foundation has developed to help solve the technician shortage. As part of the expanded alliance, a new website has been created, Careers In Hot Rodding, that provides in-depth information on the programs and opportunities available to students and schools.

By partnering with Goodguys, we are engaging with students who have a passion for the field and possess the technical aptitude to thrive in a variety of automotive career paths,” said Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation. “We have brought students from ASE-accredited automotive programs to Goodguys events nationwide, giving them a firsthand look at how they can build a successful career as a technician, while also introducing them to other career opportunities within the industry. These valuable interactions are crucial for attracting and retaining automotive students in our industry.”

The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association promotes and produces some of the world’s most dynamic automotive events. Founded by lifelong hot rodder Gary Meadors in 1983. Goodguys Rod and Custom Association is the world’s largest hot-rodding association. With over 70,000 active members worldwide. Goodguys events feature thousands of candy-colored hot rods and customs, tricked out trucks, mighty muscle cars and regal classics. Sprawled throughout venues such as lush fairgrounds, super speedways and large outdoor stadiums.
